A Colorado hut trip should be on everyone’s bucket list. Whether you are looking to explore one hut, connect multiple, or ski powder, here are some of our favorite routes you can design on your own or join one of our scheduled trips.

What You Get

Pre-Trip Orientation Meeting: 1 – 2 hour meeting the day PRIOR to your trip to discuss logistics, gear, and expectations at our shop. A small 1 hour ski tour to try the gear is avaliable or a longer day tour can be arranged for an additional fee.
Transportation: Our vehicles will be available for trailhead shuttles.
Food: Breakfast and Dinner included. Lunch and trail snacks are on you.

The Commando Run: A Vail Valley Classic

2 days, 1 night – Shrine Mountain Inn
Difficulty – Difficult
The tour departs the Shrine Mountain Inn and navigates the beautiful terrain between Vail Pass and Vail Mountain. It is named for the US Army’s 10th Mountain Division soldiers, who used to train along this demanding route for high-altitude skiing combat and commando raids during World War II.

Let us coach you on what a Colorado hut trip is all about! Whether you are new or seasoned, this trip is a great introduction to the hut experience. Guest will learn what it takes to plan for, prepare, and pull off a successful hut trip. We will embark from Yeoman Park, south of the town of Eagle, and head up the Ironedge trail for roughly 5 miles. Our layover day will provide opportunities to learn basic touring skills, ski some powder, and possibly summit nearby Charles Peak.

The Interconnect: Ski tour from Vail to Aspen

5 days, 4 nights
Difficulty – Hard
This demanding ski tour travels through the western side of the hut system starting in Vail and ending in Aspen. We begin at the Estin hutand head south to the Gates hut, located in a beautiful valley surrounded by mountains.The third night finds us at the Diamond J Ranch for some well deserved rest and a shower. Then we tour to Margy’s hut and enjoy the amazing views of the Elk Range before finishing up in Aspen on the final day.

Ski the Gore: A Ski Mountaineering Clinic

4 days, 3 nights – Eiseman Hut

This trip is for the experienced skier or rider looking to take their skills to the next level. Guest will learn techniques to approach, climb, and descend ski lines off the remote peaks of Colorado. We will also focus on topics such as planning and preparedness, risk management, avalanche hazard assessment, and mountain sense. Come ski the Gore with us!
