Featured Hut Trip…Continental Divide Traverse Llama Trek
Trip Dates: July 6-10, 2026
This llama supported trek begins on the Continental Divide at Tennessee Pass located near the Camp Hale National Monument. The route connects the 10th Mountain Division Hut with Uncle Bud’s Hut. Discover the beauty and history of one of our favorite sections of the 10th Mountain Division Hut System.
This year’s Continental Divide Traverse includes two nights at each of the huts. Adventure opportunities includes summiting Homestake Peak (13,200 ft), a historic training sight for the WWII 10th Mountain Division soldiers. The multitude of alpine lakes offer numerous opportunities for other layover day adventures including fishing, swimming, or perhaps a well earned siesta among the wildflowers. The route connecting the huts traverses under the magnificent high alpine ridges and peaks of the Continental Divide. A large portion of the route uses the famous Colorado Trail and Continental Divide Trail.

what participants are saying
Llama trekking is a wonderful adventure – I just returned from a 5 day llama trek along the upper and lower Piney river. Despite some rainy weather the experience was fabulous. Our guide (Donny) was knowledgeable, kind, and patient. The llamas made the load lighter and were entertaining. The scenery was magnificent. I hope to be lucky enough to go on another trip with them next year.
