Arrowhead Llama Lunch

Take a Llama to Lunch Hike at the Arrowhead Ski Area

DUE TO CONSTRUCTION, ARROWHEAD LLAMA LUNCHES ARE NOT AVAILABLE. BACKCOUNTRY LLAMA LUNCHES ARE AVAILABLE AND WILL BE CUSTOMIZED TO SUIT YOUR GROUP.

Meet the ‘boys’ at our backcountry center cabin located at the Arrowhead Ski Area. Enjoy an interactive introduction to these unique pack animals before taking off on a leisurely hike. Families with young children typically take a short hike and may return to the cabin for lunch. Seasoned hikers and families with older children will enjoy a longer hike that winds through mature aspen groves, evergreen forest, and at the height of the season, wildflowers. Lunch is our signature “Red-Checkered Picnic” on the trail. Every outing is catered to the needs and abilities of your group.

FAQ

Children love our llamas!  We will teach them how to interact with the llamas safely, and they can likely even lead a llama on the hike.  There will be no llama riding, though.

As with any animal, even highly trained, sometimes behavior can be erratic or spooked.  Following some simple safety precautions, though, will make for an enjoyable day with our ‘boys’.

Your gear list in your registration packet will indicate that each person will need to have a rain jacket available.  Your guides will be watching the weather forecast carefully and make route decisions accordingly.  Scattered afternoon thundershowers are the typical forecast. In the event of lightning, your guides will provide instruction on getting to shelter.

We had the best guide for our hike with Paragon. A gentleman named Nate with tons of guiding experience took us on a beautiful driving tour followed by an amazing hike. He was very knowledgeable, flexible, and accommodating. We truly could not have asked for a better experience.
